Knowing whether to include or exclude a rim’s lips in the measurements is a crucial component. From One Bolt Hole Center to Another:
Measure the distance between the centers of the bolt holes on either side of you using a tape measure (either rotating clockwise or counterclockwise).
Rim Width and Diameter of Tires:
Using the size of the tyre is the simplest and most direct approach to determine the width as well as the diameter of a rim you’ll need. The rim will often be labeled to match the width as well as diameter of the suitable tyre, and it will be 1.5 inches narrower than your tyre in width.
Although acquiring the exact width and diameter might seem easy enough, it’s actually a frequent source of error. Of course, there are constantly edge circumstances.
You should not include either of the flanges in the width measurement in order to get an accurate reading. Measure the inner distance based on where the tyre will actually rest on the rim. Since the width of the rim has already been established, finding the offset requires only measuring the distance between the outer border of the rim and the depth of the center disc. Measure down inside the rim to the middle plate with the rim lying on its side with the outside face facing up.
To measure this distance, you can use a tape measure and a straightedge, but make careful to ignore any bevels in the center disc and measure to the depth where the bolt holes are.
